We had our first landing of the year. A lone female landed on our gourd rack. Last year we didn't see our first one till feb. 26. Earliest ever for me by at least 18 days.

I remember saying just the day before I bet we see Martins this week. Nothing like good positive thinking.
I have not seen any in Plano yet.
My crickets got here today so I guess that's good.

Great news on the arrival hope the weathers good for you ,glad you got your back up plan ,havin crickets good move, better to have them or some back up food and not use any ,than to need some and not have any on hand ,and being in a panic ,although I have a few thousand in my freezer last year I trained about 10 of my birds to eat scrambled eggs too ,
The best of luck to you

- Martin Colony History: I only have one 16 compartment house. I only have a small backyard so I have to be happy with what I got.
No problems having several pairs for the past 5 years. Never quite have a full house.
The winter in Texas this year hasn't been really that bad. Had one cold spell a couple of weeks ago, so I am not surprise the birds are returning.
