Wing Entrapment Protectors

Hi all! Any ideas of what I can use on the old nature guards to protect against wing entrapment? Have crescent openings. Any pics are helpful for me. Thanks again.

Wing entrapment guards are sold on the PMCA website. Look under "Shop" starling resistant entrances.

For trio doors I make mine out of 3 inch pvc. For gourds, there is a crescent-shaped wing guard offered by S&K.

Would you be able to post a photo of your PVC protectors for your Trio doors?
I'm using the PMCA protectors, they are definitely better than nothing, but I wish they were thicker.

Wing entrapment guards make the entrance thicker. You can use anything on the sides of the entrance (wood, sintra, etc.) to make the entrance thicker, just use some caulk and wood is very simple.

Here you go Matt. Starting with a piece of 3 inch PVC, cut a 1/2 inch (or 5/8 or 3/4 or whatever you feel comfortable with) section of PVC. Use a miter & saw or some sort of cutting guide to get a straight cut on the PVC pipe:

Then cut an arc from the above piece of PVC to fit the top of the crescent:

Mount the arc to the door. I used caulking to seal the piece to the door. Here's an inside view:
