Just when I had given up on my 2nd year an SY pair visited this afternoon for about 30 minutes. The male was attempting to convince the female to check things out.
How long will martins attempt to nest? I'm in the Kansas City area.
How long do SYs keep trying?

2018: 11 pairs - 43 fledged
2017: 4 pairs - 17 fledged
Last year I had a very determined SY male who doggedly tried to attract a mate for 2 months! I felt so sorry for him and I was rooting for him the whole time. Finally he was successful and fledged 5 babies a full month after the rest of my birds were done for the year. This pair didn't lay eggs until the end of June and I'm in South Texas.Heavy_D wrote:Just when I had given up on my 2nd year an SY pair visited this afternoon for about 30 minutes.
