A local Newspaper visited Bubba Johnson's super colony in New Zion, SC and interviewed him. Bubba's colony was a participant in Julie Hovis' South Carolina Purple Martin banding project from 2008 thru 2011.

Good interview promoting PM conservation. And he's doing his part raising them at his colony and installing gourd racks for those intersted locally--a lifetime Purple Martin enthusiast.

Nice article, I was intrigued by the line that said a study found fire ants made up 56% of insects consumed by martins at 1 study site..,,,maybe I am reading it wrong, just thought that was odd.

Awesome article, anything to attract new landlords in news print or tv is great.
ImageMite control, heat venting, predator protection and additional feeding during bad weather add up to success.
