You can drop the top section down into the second section, part or all the way (I use a hose clamp as a stop). That makes the tri-tel both more stable and less likely to bend in a severe wind. I set mine to just below the bottom of the gourd rack and the martins don't mind the lower level at all. The extra height might matter more to someone who doesn't have an established colony. -- John
Ok so I made an investment in the purple Martins! Got me a 3” deluxe rack with winch to hold 24 houses. I will be upgrading some of my houses to Troyer gourds down the road, so room to grow! This pole was a little pricy but it is very nice and should last me a long time. Got a predator guard too. Can’t wait!

I think what you have looks great. Maybe too new, Martins like old and used.
I will say when I was having problems have Martins come to my new PM houses here is what I did. I drove around and looked to see what my closest neighbors (with Martins) were using for housing. In my area they were using Super Gourds. I came home and ordered a pole and 8 Super Gourds. It came in in a week had it completely installed on 3 days and Martins on the 4th day.
With that said I would also recommend offering the Martins several different type of gourds/houses to choose from.

Do you cement your poles in the ground or just tamp them?

At one point i have about 8-10 birds visiting and hanging out for 1-2 days then they moved on. for now i seem to have 1 male that is focused on 1 of the gourds and leave to bring new followers. Just gonna be more patient.
I also agree. Im gonna try to keep different houses and offer what they like to get things started.
I used concrete to set my poles.

Yes I agree concrete is the best way to go some people think tamping is good but as soil conditions change the pole can loosen in the ground.
