Are there any active known roosts in the Louisville area? Cincinatti area? Southern Indiana? All the info on the Roost Report is outdated.

Jeff good to see you on here. I have heard there is a roost in Louisville, not sure if it is still active or not though.
Are you still living in Carthage? I thought I saw a scout report or something that said Sulpher Springs. I am between Mt Summit and Sulpher, didn't know if you were up here or not....

Hey Flyin Lowe!
I am still in the Carthage area, east of town. I was doing some research of my property and discovered it lies in an old unincorporated settlement called Sulphur Spring! No s on the end. I know your general area pretty good from time spent hunting waterfowl, fishing and hunting deer at Summit Lake, oh yeah and also stuffing my face at 1000 Degree Pizza!
I have been trying to contact Louisville Audubon, and begging on here for roost coordinates. I have visited the Louisville roost before and it was totally amazing! I can't find Larry Melcher anymore, he used to pinpoint them good.
Good hearing from you, I need to log-in more frequently and keep better track of my purple martin friends that helped me and encouraged me when I was starting my colony!

I live just south of province pond about 1/2 mile so I know where you are. Interesting about the Sulpher Spring. My old property where I had my original colony used to adjoin Summit Lake Property. I was over on the east side, near where the eagles are nesting now, if you have been over there this year.

That roost has not been reported by any local birders yet as far as I know. The roost ring still looked good this morning northeast of Louisville. The center of the ring appeared to originate just across the county line into Oldham County somewhere between Highway 42 and I-71. Some smaller roads in that zone include Route 329 and Route 1694. The roost was east of River Bluff and north of Worthington.

Jeff there is a roost at Greensburg, Indiana in Decator County. It was visible on radar this morning possibly on the north side of town. Greensburg looks like a small town where you could find the roost without too much trouble.

Thanks Scott! Greensburg is not far from me, I will look for it and report back any findings!
