I bought a case of 60 eggs for $5.72 at Walmart only to discard the egg whites and yolk so I could have the egg shells. I got 3/4 of a pound of egg shells out of it. Worth it to me, but loony to anyone who's not a crazy martin person.
Fledged over 3,000 martins in beautiful southern Indiana since 1996.
Started 2 colonies and mentored 3 colonies with total fledged >4,000 martins into the world.

Your not crazy at all. Completely normal. Like learning to keep your mouth closed while flipping crickets, only a crazy person would care about the odd leg that floats down into said open mouth. Part of the disease.

Only a mild form of crazy. LOL My neighbor once asked me if I lost it after seeing me outside before sunrise with an air horn ready to scare the @$#@ out of hawk.😄 Keep up the good work!

We keep all our egg shells and crush them, either for the garden or we put it in the gravel lane where we see martins land to pick up grit.
