Martin Colony History: began in 2001. I've had Purple Martins for 25 years.

I have had Martin‘s for about 20 years. But this is the first year that I’ve actively managed my nests, and have been faithfully filling out the data in my colony nest checks on this site. But I’m having one particular problem. Sometimes during data entry, it will not allow me to enter the number of birds that have fledged. In one of my nests, I had 4 birds. Five days later, I had one bird. When I tried to enter that three birds had fledged, it would only allow me to place a zero. I have re-checked all my data entries, and cannot figure out why sometimes it will not allow me to put the correct number of birds fledged. Can someone help me figure out the problem? I want to make sure my data is correct when I submit it. If the data entry system does not allow me to enter the number of birds fledged, my data will not be in accurate.

Martin Colony History: :
2022 - 1 pair, 5E, 4H, 4F
2023 - 2 pair, 9E, 5H, 5F
2024 - 4 pair, 16E, 16H, 14F (2 more pair started nests but failed due to weather/loss of mate).

i noticed that. it's the 1st time i've tried to enter data too, so no idea if it's working right. all of mine fledged at the same time so i didn't need to edit that, but i did try for some reason and saw it would only allow '0'.

I guess I will just enter the data the best I can and submit it. Thanks.

Be interesting to see if martins were laying eggs earlier or later in certain parts of the country too.

This is a known issue with the programming in the system. Even though the number resets to zero on your side of things, the entries are correct on our back end. Sorry for the confusion. It's on the extensive list of little things that need fixed the website...

my data will be 'correct' just slightly incomplete. i did nest checks every 5-7 days, but for some reason, i only wrote down days that had things happening. so from nest start to 1st egg, i don't really have any records. i will try to remember to be more thorough next year (presuming i get my pair back).

Is it too late to submit data for this season? I kept records, but haven't made time to enter it yet :???:
