Well I have a pole and gourd set up arriving Wed. So I'll have it up this weekend. Is it too late for central Texas this year? I know there is another guy in my neighborhood with a martins.
Just thinking about chances for this year.

Nope! Sub adults are coming in now with new arrivals every day. Im in south texas. Keep the sparrows at bay, investigating martins are skittish and a sparrow will chase it off.
Don't throw in the towel. Hope you get them

There are still many Martins moving through Texas, after The beginning of May they will slow down.

But for other reasons mentioned there are always Martins relocating and starting over.

I heard that sir!!!! Actually there's three subbies that NEED a home. Tearing it up!!! Please please come get them.
Sunday one subbie decided to go into the earliest arrivals ASY gourd. Went right in, ASY was in there, oh boy did they fight. Leaves were coming out the entrance, subbie tried to get out, head and shoulders were on the porch but he got dragged back in. Then the ASY came out backwards, went right back in! Finally the subbie made it, head wings and body but the ASY was holding his feet. Finally let go, and off he went. About 5 minutes of fighting. Thought that was it, nope, subbie came right back in a few minutes went right back in!!!! More leaves came out, a minute later subbie came out looking like he had been washed and rinsed. ASY came out after a bit looking like Rocky! He was tired but victorious.
I'll ship sir.
