SY birds

My birds has been here since 2/12 or so. I have not add a single SY bird (at least no males). My ASYs are all paired and porch or gourd dedicated at this point.

Is it odd that I have not seen any SYs? I have 18 cavities in my trendsetter and 4 horizontal gourds below. Last night I counted about 22 birds return at sunset.

My cell is (903) 830-2962 if text or calling is easier! I did look at the PMCA scout arrival page and in my area there have been many reports of ASY but only 1 SY on 3/24/2026.

Not that I want the crazy teen hormonal fighting but also concerned as our weather has been up and down a lot!

I'm in the Dallas/Denton area. My SYs don't usually show up until early April and don't come in strong until mid to late April. I have around 20 ASYs, similar to you. Everything seems right on time to me. I wouldn't worry.

I looked back at my logs from 2025 and my first identified subbie arrived April 13th last year.

South La here. I should be seeing them soon. By mid April definitely. Sometimes I hear them first because I will be sitting peacefully in my living room and will hear horrendous fighting going on in the backyard. When I peek back there to see what’s going on I’ll then see a little trouble making SY male trying to own the place lol.
