My son is working on his Eagle Project and selected to create a nesting habitat located in Medina County, Ohio. It's been a slow process with signatures and planning details, but he's now off and running with his project.
Currently looking for donations to get it rolling.
Thanks for looking!

Hello,

I’m reaching out to share an exciting project I’m working on as part of my journey to earn the rank of Eagle Scout. I’m raising funds to install a Gemini 24-unit Purple Martin gourd rack at Hubbard Valley Park, which will provide much-needed housing for these beautiful birds. Purple Martins are a native species that depend heavily on human-provided homes to thrive, and their numbers have been declining.

By supporting this project, you’re not only helping to create a safe nesting habitat but also contributing to the preservation of local biodiversity. This new gourd rack will serve as an educational resource for our community, inspiring others to appreciate and protect our natural environment.

Your support, whether through a donation or by sharing this campaign, will make a significant difference. Thank you for considering this opportunity to help our feathered friends and enhance our park for years to come.

Best regards,

Quinn Riedlinger

I thought we were too late installing the rack, but timing was good enough. Checked the setup for activity last weekend and saw 7 Purple Martins flying around. The Medina County employees checked the nest today with good results.

Congratulations to you and your son for attracting martins in the first year! That location looks about perfect for a nesting colony. The landscape is a nice mix of field and forest and of course the lake is a nice feature for the birds. Should be plenty of dragonflies to feast upon.
