I shopped in about 15 stores trying to find mouse glue traps. ( I have a sparrow that just killed one of my 4 babies. ). I found some glue traps, but the Tomcat, Catchum, JT Eaton, Victor, and 8 Ball were all I could find. When I put my finger on them, it barely stuck!!!!
I know a few years ago I caught sparrows with glue traps and if you put your finger on the trap it would really stick and you had trouble getting the goop off your finger.
Now I cannot find a brand like that. Does anyone know of a "sticky" brand and where to buy it?
thanks

Sharon,
Judging by your recent post you managed to get the sparrow. For future reference :the trap I use is made by Bell Laboratories (bellabs.com) in Wi, I use the Trapper monitor and insect trap (Cut to size). This trap does more to scare/discourage than to trap permanently. They have an extensive rqnge of 'glue' products and are located in your state.

Some landlords have been successful with glue traps and others have not. I tried glue traps only to find the sparrows managed to put enough nesting material on top of the glue trap to build another nest on top of it! Other cavities were successful because it acted as a deterent, turning the birds away for a while until they were able to figure out placing grass on top of the glue trap made it "unsticky" enough for them to continue building a nest.
I'm a "nestcamaholic" Is 18 hours a day a bad thing? (I have 2 this year, luckily I have 2 eyes!)

The way to use glue traps is to let the ES built its nest uninterrupted and than to place the glue trap inside: works every time and you don't have to worry about other birds entering the compartment.

Thanks for replies.
I had previously tried a glue trap one time and the sparrow got off the trap....wasn't sticky enough. So I bought a bunch of brands....found the Tomcat the 'stickyest". But a few years ago I had one that had a cellophane covering on it so it wouldn't try out. that was very very sticky. but cannot find which brand that was now.
thanks

Sharon,
I was going to get some sticky traps also, but I managed to stop the problem for this year without them. My thought was to check at the feed store or Farmer's CoOp and see what they had on their shelves. The stuff they carry is usually "industrial strength". I assume their glue traps would be the same.
Good luck with your varmint problem. I know how frustrating it can be.
