I am not the best organizer but why doesn't someone pick a day and we can all try to meet at the roost!! I would not be able to do it sat or mon night but should be able to do it another night. We can have a Martin celebration!

Martin Colony History: Erected 1st house in 1997. Birds were checking it out before Mike got down from the ladder. Six cavities had a little colony 1st year. Grown to 88 cavities all gourds with near 100% occupancy. Most important factor for success is rain = bugs.

I'd love to be there and meet all of you, too. I will keep checking to see when y'all decide date for certain... 8)

What an awsome sight! We just got back. The roost is between Bellaire Blvd, the Jewelry Exchange Center, and the Foleys parking lot, about 1 block from Hwy 59.

They started coming in about 8:15, it got very hectic about 8:30 to 9:00 pm, and then it was dark. I don't know how so many birds can land on those 6 or 7 trees! They come down in waves, hundreds at a time! Your auto will get splattered if you park close, and one got me on my knuckles! The noise is deafening!

I am so happy that we went! I will remember this all my life!

We met a nice lady that lives nearby, she said that she comes nearly every night to watch them. She has a couple PM houses.

So glad you went!!! It truly is something to see. Did you go under the trees??? That was my favorite! I guess you live too far to come back out sat.??

No, I didn't go under the trees, I was afraid to go there!

Oh I wish you had!!!! The sound of it all from under there was so awesome and just seeing them covering every inch of that tree was great.

Lisa ps didn't get pooped on once under there but did feel like I was covered in mites! ha.

This just in. Wife informed me that she has her monthly Bunko game this coming weekend, and that Saturday night I'm to stay home on "baby duty".

I know we're going to eventually pick an evening that we can all get there! :???:

Emil, I am so happy that y'all went, too! It is a truly memorable experience that "every" landlord needs to see.

I think it is especially nice that you met somebody there with a colony nearby. I hope you told her about the PMCA and the Forum.

Thanks for your report.
Sincerely,
Laverne
