Spellcheck not working?

Is anyone getting spellcheck to work. I'm using Windows ME with Netscape internet explorer v 8.0.2. When I click on it it chugs away for 1 minute and comes back with a blank phpspell screen .

Martin Colony History: Erected 1st house in 1997. Birds were checking it out before Mike got down from the ladder. Six cavities had a little colony 1st year. Grown to 88 cavities all gourds with near 100% occupancy. Most important factor for success is rain = bugs.

I reported the problem to Patrick Kramer at PMCA. It is down from their end - not yours. Here's his response:
Thank you for pointing out the spellchecker problem. I am already aware and have been looking into the matter. I hope to find some time to fix it this next week. More pressing matters need my attention.

I downloaded ieSpell. It's free. It stays on your tool-bar, and all you have to do is click on it and it checks your spelling. Someone from another forum recommended it. I love it....Pat

Thanks to everyone, I have been doing a copy/paste to my e-mailing software and doing the check there. I'll try iespell.

Just read the instructions for iesspell - it requires Internet explorer - I use Nestcape Communicator.
