Hi Everyone,
I'm having to move from south fl to Greensboro North Carolina next month and I plan on starting a new colony there. When do the martins start coming thru and when should I have to be set -up. Any help would be great.

James, ASY's come through late Feb. early March, and SY's late April early May. Greensboro and Raleigh dates are about the same(85 miles west of Raleigh) Al

Thanks Al for the information. Do you see large numbers are there?

James, You'll find large numbers here in NC. You don't hear much about them though. Most folks here with large colonies don't use martin forums, and problably don't know there is such a thing. I see martins everywhere I travel in NC. I don't know that much about the Greensboro area, but I'm sure you'll find martins there if you do a little "leg work". Good luck! Al

Thanks for the info Al. I lived in Eden as a boy but did not have martins then but I have seen them around my dad's house when I am home. I will be moving out into the country so I will not have to content with someone living right beside me and I can have as many houses as I like. I'm looking forward to getting home. How big is your colony? I had a good start on one down here in Fla but I have to leave and come home.

James, I probably should'nt boast about all the martins in NC and I don't even have any after 7 years of trying. Actually, I live in town and a little void of them here, but do get some visits, and sooner or later it will happen. You'll do fine in the country with a good site. Hopefully you'll get some right off. Al
