The Greatest Gift of Spring

When Nature's Garden bursts in bloom
To shed the cloak of winter's gloom
It's a bit of heaven here on earth
As springtime undergoes rebirth.
It's Nature's balm to soothe my soul
As winter's doldrums fade and fold.

When the air is fresh and fragrant
When the buzz of spring is vibrant
When pheromones and hormones flow
Each species puts on its best show.

The flowers' blooms add their bouquet
As spring's bedazzled peaks each day.
Even the birdland melody
Is therapy to mellow me.

But the greatest boon from all spring things
Is the pleasure that my martin brings.
On his return my step is lighter,
A smile comes quick, the world is brighter.
The Purple Martin majesty
Makes landlordship most dear to me.

P.S.
I'd like to acknowledge Barb Messimer's assistance with the English language. Like Bernard Shaw said(paraphrase,) I "never let the English language interfere with what I'm trying to say."
