Lost one male ASY during the early cold spell. More nests than there are birds. Egg laying has started, still waiting for SYs. Note one report in Mt. Pleasant but haven't heard of any others in Southeast Iowa.

John,
I'm not sure when you should be expecting your SY birds to return, but I just had my first SY male of the year return on 05-12-09 at my colony in northern middle Tennessee. So they are still moving north.
