Last year at this time, I had about 10-12 PM's, as of this afternoon it appears to be about 40.
Hey Gang...if your birds aren't here yet....they are on the way.
Thanks to the PMCA for all the help. Without the info they provide...none of us would ever know what to do. Support them!

I've been wondering why the sudden slowdown in scouting reports. I guess they are at colonys that have already reported.
Thanks for keeping us up to date!

- Martin Colony History: Area is rural. Offer 28 compartments...metal housing (Lonestar Goliad) & Supergourds all w/crescent entrance holes. Purple martins are abundant here and eager for quality, well maintained, safe housing. Expect near 100% occupancy this season.
My first martin showed up on Feb. 16th (a little earlier than usual). I have well over thirty presently roosting...more than at this time in previous years. Have already had two instances of wing entrapment...two martins lost...but managed to save three. All entrapments occurring in crescent entrance holes in Lonstar Goliad...same as in years past. I really like the Goliad, and so do the martins, but every year I lose martins to wing entrapment in that housing. It has never occurred in the Grandpa Trio or the Super Gourds. Have crescent entrance holes on all.
