I have found dead martins in two of my excluder-doored supergourds. I doubt the culprit was a starling because of the door design. Both birds were sy males judging by their feathers. Both had the backs of their heads bloodied. Was this the work of sparrows or competition for nesting spots between male martins?

HOSP's is my bet. there is a pair in my backyard aggressively defending the two (now 3) available BB boxes. Ripped a few feathers right from the back of the male bb as he was peeking in.
