I can't believe how many came in today. I went from 3 to 9 in one day. Today was a good day for migration.

Funny thing happened this afternoon. I was watching the martins and they sounded the alarm call and went flying high as if a hawk was coming in. I jumped up and noticed it was my neighbors remote controlled airplane. This thing is really big and looks almost like a hawk. The martins never really seem to understand what it was. When they came in for the night they went in really fast like they do when a hawk has been after them. I know they will soon get familiar with the plane I just don't want them to assume it's the plane and it really be a hawk.
I saw my first Martins of the year down in Hartselle today too. Of course, they were not at my place but, hey, we take what we can get.

Hi Darryl, that is a nice set up you have. They seem to faver the top row of gourds, is that so, or where they just happend to be when you snapped the photo? Have you seen any subs yet? Seems like there should be some that far south by now! Hope you fill all thoes gourds this year. Have a good season.

Thanks Ed, They do seem to really like the top row. I'm sure they will eventually fill the rest of the rack up.
