Well after a strange departure of my first Returnees from 2011, (might be due to confusion over the new housing) I was really bummed out, I took a big risk of loosing my martins by removing the old S&K housing and upgrading to a Super System 24. I got lucky again and two pair have decided to return. I think they are last years birds. They have been checking out all the new gourds this time and testing the flight paths and looks like they have chosen to finally stay. I wasn’t going to post until they started building their nests.

Congrats, but I don't think you needed to stress to much. The martins will appreciate the new housing, and I don't think the risk of them leaving was as great as you thought.

Congrats. You can never go wrong upgrading to quality housing versus inexpensive garbage.
Thanks for posting the pics, I always enjoy looking at them. Seems like a fairly lengthy lens you are using, what are you shooting with (if you don't mind me asking)?
2010: two pair nested, 1 bird fledged.
2011: starlings/sparrows destroyed nests. I shut down the house early to save PM lives.
2012: new T-14 with SREH, & a Beeman R7. Four fledged this year.
2013: Destroyed many house sparrows, but fledged 21 PM's!

As of 2018 - 84 cavities offered, max # of pairs hosted - 82.
Congrats, Chris!! BTW, how do you like the super system? I've been looking at that one too. Was really excited about a Gemini rack until I studied the logistics of winding it down with a winch and realized the bottom ring would come down around you. 
But I really like having only 2 levels. I'm just a bit short and hate having to carry a stool around with me.

I love it, cranks up and down pretty cool, I'll change the cable next year, I got the pole and T-14 used of Craigs list for $150, the rest from PMCA, They had a better price. I liked the Gemini too but can't get out from under it when it is all the way down.

Here are pictures of the martins that are here now, I think there are 8 now total but these just happened to be sitting here at the time I went out to check on them. The picture next to last pictures is a Subbie the rest are ASY adults. I have two nesting pairs building nests so far out of this group.

such great photos there. really clear and up close. I really interested in that exact pole and rack system that you have to replace my older nature line pole and rack system for next year.
The gourd configuration on 2 levels are exactly what I have now and the birds like it and are used to it but I need a stronger better hub and pole to put it on.
Are you saying that the actual pole you have there is a T14 pole and winch system and then you purchased the hub and racks arms from a different company that fit perfectly like that on the T14 pole?
