I have the "ok I Guess" from my better half to buy a new gourd rack sometime between September to December of this year and I am having a hard time deciding which one i want, due to a couple considerations:
#1 huge consideration for my self is wind because in some directions (South West, West, and North West) of my backyard it is several miles just to the nearest tree or house so i have basically no wind blockage and we get some pretty hefty winds here at times so the worry of how an aluminium pole would with stand those winds is something i have to factor in.
#2 is that i am Handicapable and Wheel Chair/Power Chair bound, so finding a rack that will lower enough for me to do nest checks is also a biggie as well.
I also have to stick to a Budget of $350 or under for my new rack I don't have the "ok I Guess" to spend more than that.
I Need Gourd Rack Input Please
JL,
I have been real pleased with my AAA gourd rack. When putting it together "you" can decide how high you want the rope winder to be, so you could lower it as low as you wanted. I must say though, I do lower mine some when high winds are forecast. Just caution , not worry. You know, an ounce of prevention!

I too have a AAA and love it. The only issue would be the EZ off predator guard. You would likely have yo make a pvc guard so there is nothing clamped onto the pole.

I have a supersystem 24, and have high winds all the time, my 3in sq al pole is good in 35/40mph winds full height, any more I lower it half way. I'm also looking at a elec wench to operate it and lower the safty bolt so it will go to 12in above ground.
