Anyone have a good solution for this that doesn't involve a pool noodle?

I am looking for something that looks professional and clean for a public colony.

Clothespins maybe?
You could even spray paint them white.
Here's a photo posted sometime back by forum member Carlymac, showing her use of clothespins on Trio crescents:

by professional I mean something that doesn't look out of place. Like it belongs with the house.

Anyone ever tried the s&k in a trio?

I think pool noodles are cool - I like the lime green ones. You can clearly see they need to be removed in spring, and also generates some public interest. "what are those?"

..you can buy blank doors from Trio. They are harder to open as they don' t have anything to grasp, but I use a paint can opener and lift up and out. I have put little wing nuts on some to use as handles.

You could try just sitting a some kind of wooden or plastic block inside. Some of us turn our nest trays around in houses, like Trendsetters or some T-14s, to block the doors.

I am with you, John, and think the pool noodles are really cool, and effective. They also invite questions, that lead to conversations, that lead to education. However, my color of choice is PURPLE.

They are inexpensive, fit every need, every entrance style, and with just a little *squish* they are quickly inserted or removed.

If color is the problem, I suppose a light color such as the yellow noodle could be spray painted?????

i have some s&k cresent plugs that fit my bo11 gourds and i think they would work if you don't have the extra porch added on flush with bottom of cresent like i do on my trio's,i think the cresent openings are the same size on trio and s&k,i was thinking that nature house also sold cresent door plugs too fit trio houses;;jr2

If you're using nest trays....just turn them around....problem solved.

I don’t have the perfect site. One open flyway with trees within 80 ft. I do have a small pond they utilize during the heat of Summer. (2017) HEAVY HAWK PREDATION
