Rain... flooded

We had over 5" of rain from all day friday and into saturday morning. The end of my road is flooded over and my pond is completly topped off, almost to the dock boards. Hope all those eggs in my martin houses are still good. Here is a picture of my road. There's a deep ditch on the left side.

Man, It's like that here too. We had so much rain on Wednesday, a dinner plate sized snapping turtle (yeah the one that looks like a gator in a shell) had paddled its way 100 yd into my pasture to enjoy the runoff water a foot deep- right by my chickadee house which has chicks near fledging age. Do you have trouble with snakes getting into your houses, with all that water around? Mary
