Hello everyone,
well i guess sooner or later it was bound to happen no matter how much of a good Landlord you try to be or how much attention you give your PM's, yep , you guessed it ,i had to take a fledgeling to Roger's Rehab off I-45 in Dallas before he got past the point of being saved. Due to the high temps here in Grand Prairie, Texas i found him on the ground a couple of days in a row, i tried to mist the PM house & Gourd rack w/ water to lower the Temp but i think a combination of the Parents not feeding him possibly to coax him out and the high temp made him jump prematurely, anyway after trying to feed him by hand a couple of days and him not really being that interested in food, on june 29th i only got a couple bites of scrambled egg down and that was me forceing him to take it, on june 30th i fed a bug or 2 by force feeding and began to get concerned that he might not make it much longer if i didn't get him to eat or Professional help so i made my move to the rehaber's, the outcome so far is he's fine and Roger's Rehab said that they would release him when he's strong enough to Fly & survive on his own. Thanks to Roger's I was able to save this little one and if i can save even one Martin it's well worth it to me as a LandLord , as a landlord i know alot of you can't get to a rehaber as quickly as i did and i hope this never happens to you that's why it is so important to Read as much as you can about the Care of and Rehab of PM's, find out all you can and especially the closest Rehaber's location to you so you can get the Help you need, I was lucky and this story has a happy ending. I Love My PM's and hope that you do too.

I live in Carrollton and didn't know where a rehabber was in this area. Can you please give me his address, phone, name etc.

Praying I never need it, but better to be prepared.

Thanks

Martin Colony History: Erected 1st house in 1997. Birds were checking it out before Mike got down from the ladder. Six cavities had a little colony 1st year. Grown to 88 cavities all gourds with near 100% occupancy. Most important factor for success is rain = bugs.

Thank you, K.C. - for caring so much for your martins.

And thank you, too for posting the info on the rehabber.

Could be a big help for a lot of people.
Sincerely,
Laverne

Laverne,
Thanks for your kind word's, i have alway's cared for the Martins and their well being ever since my first introduction to them in 1970 . I will do anything that i can to help the martins and hopefully help other people to help the Martins also, i think if a person can save just one Martin it's well worth the effort and very rewarding and i hope other PM Landlord's feel the same way as i do.
