The adult female is missing from one of the nexts. There were two babies. I found oue of them dead. The male bird is not feeding the baby that is left. He guards the nest where the baby that is still alive. He also fights the birds in the nest above him every time they come in to feed their babies. My question is this, can I move the baby to another nest?

- Martin Colony History: Erected 1st house in 1997. Birds were checking it out before Mike got down from the ladder. Six cavities had a little colony 1st year. Grown to 88 cavities all gourds with near 100% occupancy. Most important factor for success is rain = bugs.
Hello Bill.
Yes, you can move the remaining nestling to another nest - IF you can find a nest with young of the same size. Do not put this nestling into a nest with smaller young - he will cause their death. Do not put this nestling into a nest with larger young - he will die.
If you do not a nest of "same size" young, I would recommend a rehabber.
