Hi everyone,

I was wondering if we have any expert or knowledgable digiscopers on the forum or if any one can point me in the right direction?

Trying to decide between a Kowa or Swarovski scope but not sure what is best w a DSLR Canon D70.

Thanks,

Mitch

I have a swarovksi straight scope (view is straight thru) and have never been able to handle digiscoping with it, but I am not very tech wise. Lots of folks are digiscoping now with their phones - there's an adapter for about $150 that holds the phone on the scope. Tony Lau in MN is doing that. I'll poke around, maybe there is a good forum or site with info.

Louise,

Thank you!! Is there a way to contact Tony in Minnisota? What model Swarovski do you own and how do you like it?

Mitch, Tony is a member of this forum, I will see if he can comment. I have a Swarovski ST80, great for birding (and reading bands on martins, which is reason I got it, years ago) and a Canon Rebel T3.

Found a couple of sites you might check out: https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/dig ... birds/info (you have to join to read or post)
and http://www.birdforum.net/forumdisplay.php?f=243

You might talk to the folks at Eagle Optics, they are very helpful and might be able to advise you on good choices that will work best with your camera.

Hi Mitch,
I am using an adapter for my phone that I got from Phoneskope.com
Just tell them which scope and which phone you have and they make one to fit exact

I have no experience with using a dslr for digiscoping, check their website for if they make adapters for them
