I'm wondering if you could mount these gourds on a S&K gourd rack? It is the original six unit rack! Are the gourds to big for the rack? Do the gourds touch each other? Just wondering because I planing on replacing my S&K bo nines with the horizontal gourds!
Thanks in advance!

Kyler, I can't speak for the S&K rack, but if you haven't ordered your gourds yet, you might consider the vertical ones instead of the horizontal ones. I have some of each. (No Martins however).. BUT When I ordered the last set of gourds from Troyer's, Adam told me that while the birds had no preference for one or the other, he and others agreed that the nests were drier in the verticals and thought they were a better gourd design in the long run. Just something to keep in mind. If it were up to me, I'd stick with stuff that is all the same brand, so it will all work together properly. This martin stuff is plenty challenging enough as it is!  Good Luck. Do your homework and you'll come up with the right decision. :)

Thanks for the advice! I still don't know what to do! I was wondering if you could take just one of the upgrade kits and make your own gourd rack? How do the little brackets attache? I just got a 2 inch square pole from a landlord that has been setting in he basement for awhile! He was never going to put it up! So I decided I wanted to build my own gourd rack and put the horizontal/vertical gourds on it! But I just need advice on building a gourd rack!

But my main question is that if you could take one of those upgrade kits for the deluxe gourd rack and mount it on a homemade gourd rack??
Does the upgrades come with a picece that slides over a 2 inch pole and then you attache the brackets? Just wondering thanks!!

So your saying the upgrade kits come with a hub already or do you have to purchase one separate? If not can you purchase one on the PMCA shop?

I'm on the purple martin website and there is a kit that is a 12 unit! It comes with a hub and all the arms and hardware! The only problem there is that they do have a picture! But what I am reading it comes with everything for a 2 inch square pole! For 129.00

Yes that's right! It says that it comes with the hub, arms and hitch pins. I will have to find something for the pulley system!
My pole came with a rope and pulley system but it's a plastic pulley! But the rope is good!
