Well earlier this season back in March/April I made a post how I though my first season was a bust. In that topic I concluded that I will probably have to take down the pine tree in the back corner of my yard. Well, it finally came down. Hopefully next year will be more successful. I had lots of lookers this year but no takers.

Martin Colony History: Started trying to attract purple martins in 2012! It's finally happened in 2017! 5 years!!! ASY male and SY female came May 1st, fledged 5 babies!

That really opened it up! Just keep trying! Good luck! :)

Martin Colony History: First started in Gretna, La in 1969 with a small homemade house, have had martins ever since at 2 different homes in Texas

The more open it is, the better. I am replying because of the power lines, the martins should really like your site with those nearby power lines...good luck next year

I agree with Emil, Martin's like open spaces. Those Power Lines are definately a plus!! Martin's love to congregate on Power Lines and look down on everything.!! Rodger
