I've had a lone female since Feb. 7th , but today when I arrived home I had 5 martins, two males and three females . I had told my daughter I was expecting more martins today . This date is about the average when I get my first Martin every year . I hope everybody has a great year !!

Thank you for posting of your arrivals. I'm in Plano and have not seen any Martins yet. I am hoping they will arrive soon since last year was the first year I had a successful pair. I figured they would be eager to return. They established last year in March so it's getting close to that time.

The two pair from across the alley have not arrived either. Any day now is what I keep saying.

I play the dawn song a lot hoping to attract some passers by.

Thanks again.

Martin Colony History: Area is rural. Offer 28 compartments...metal housing (Lonestar Goliad) & Supergourds all w/crescent entrance holes. Purple martins are abundant here and eager for quality, well maintained, safe housing. Expect near 100% occupancy this season.

Hang in there Coolwhips...they're back! I'm just east of Lake Lavon. This morning the first of my purple martins returned...an adult female. Best of luck to you this season.

Thats great. I hope you have a great season.

Seems they are slowly burt surely coming in and increasing in numbers each day and week. We may see reports of single returns but we aren't seeing ALL of the Martins that aren't being reported. I would guess that there are more here than we know.

Thanks for the Arrival date James , I still have not seen or Heard any Martins here at my Site in Grand Prairie as of yet
Had a Squirrel to give birth inside my S & S repeating Controller , had to lay it down and dismantle to get the Squirrel nest & Babies out
This is a First for me ,had the S & S up since 2008 , It's a Great Trap which helped me control my Starlings & Sparrows and now i never see any here at all.
