Martin Colony History: PMCA Member - Project MartinWatch - Enlarged Compartments - SREH - S&S Control - Mite Control - Predator Guards - Heat Control ( Vents and Insulation ) - Supplemental Feeding -

Manage 7 different colonies in Colby Kansas.

My family and I recently took a trip to Florida in the end of May and we went to Disney world. So of course I knew they had a colony so I kept my eyes open the whole time and I finally found it. There were three different sections. The last picture was there new one that they just installed recently and I didn’t see any Martins around except for a decoy on top. Here are some pictures!

This is awesome, Kyler! We love Walt Disney World and go as often as we can afford. We were there last year in January. Is this at Epcot? I'll have to keep my eyes open for it when I'm there the next time. Thanks so much for sharing!

I was at Epcot last year and one thing I noticed at that site was the predator guards, they were stove pipe guards but were only about 2 feet off the ground (to the top) Anything could have bypassed them. I think I had a thread and posted some pictures of them, not sure if they are still like that or not. The one I remember was similar to the one in your pic that is partially visible in front of the lady in the wheelchair. It was almost sitting on the ground.

Martin Colony History: Started in 1992 From neighbors old 1950-60's colonies. Have 8 Trio 6 Room Houses, 4 MPP Poles, 1 Heath Deluxe Gourd with Troyer Porch, 8 NatureLine Gourds with Troyer Porches, 5 Troyer Horizontals ,& 2 S&K 11" WITH Troyer Porches ready for 2019 Season !

If I were to ever go there, I would offer my time to Vent those Gourds with some PVC Elbows, :???: :grin:

:oops: Oops !, My Bad, I forgot to mention that I believe that every gourd should have extra vents that Can be plugged, JUST in case there is a heat wave that Should hit the area, if not, the vents can stay plugged, ( or not (?) ) I guess I'm a "Better Safe than..." person, Thanks All ! :grin:
