- Martin Colony History: 2021--12 pairs a mix of ASY and SY, 32 fledged!
I have been checking these nests almost weekly, It has been since the 26th of June that all eggs where laid, That was 27 days ago. None have hatched. The first nest has one egg with a hole in it, and the other has a huge vertical crack and was leaking fluid. the last egg in that nest looks bumpy. The second nest all the eggs look normal, from what I can see. Should I leave these eggs or discard them? I have not seen any parental activity for 4 days.

- Martin Colony History: The 1972 St. Agnes flood wiped out all the Martins in my area. One day, in 1997-98, 5 or 6 Martins landed on the power wires crossing my back yard. I had no house for them. They kept coming back day after day. We got a martin house a few weeks later & they have been coming back every year since. I average 12-15 pair per year.
I'd toss the cracked ones & let the rest go a few more days & see if any hatch. It could be SY nests. Some often fail.
