we are still seeing martins around. they especially like to come and land on the two houses and some old antennas we put up. there is a park with a small pond nearby. they seems to spend the nights in two trees which is near the pond. for the first year, i was very special at what has happen. the first day right after the new house went up , martins were already checking it out.on one night there was at least 50 birds around the houses and antennas. the pictures are of our neighbor's front porch with the martins. & antennas on south side of my house & pm house on east side

Looks kind of like there trying to get out of the sun at your neighbor's house.

Hey Lockharttatylor--good pictures.. Where are you in lockhart? I live just outside of the lockhart city limits... You say the martins stay at night in a tree close to a pond, where would that be? I always wondered where my subbie bachelors may go and the rest of the martins when the season is just ending. I still have about fifty martins that come by every mornin. Also, still have nine babies to fledge at the end of july and beginning of august.

the locate of the pond is right behind the junior campus, which is called the maple street park. we are locate just south of the new bluebonnet elementary school. there is a lot of martins in our area and very few houses.

Oh my gosh!! is that close to Clearfork Meadows, the new subdivsion? If so that is only four miles from us.. I wondered if they went somewhere close to the school. My mother is having a house built in that subdivsion.

We should meet.

we are in clearford estates, house in the back close to the park. clearford meadows is just west of us. also there are more pictures on our webshots link. the park is right down the street from the junior high school, the trees are right next to the pond the backside of clearford meadows.
